Do you accept insurance?
I now accept Aetna (MO, KS, and TX), Cigna (MO, KS, and TX), BCBS of Kansas City, BCBS of Texas, United Healthcare (Optum in MO and TX), and Anthem BCBS of Missouri.
Depending on your current health insurance provider or employee benefit plan, services can be covered in full or in part. Please get in touch with your insurance carrier to verify how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy services. We’d recommend asking these questions to your insurance carrier to help determine your benefits:
• Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?
• Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it, and have I met it yet?
• Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?
• Do I need written approval from my primary care physician for services to be covered?
Things to keep in mind:
1. Insurance companies typically require a diagnosis code to be billed or reimbursed. Clinicians can assign a diagnostic code to your billing; however, great care will be taken to make sure a client is diagnosed correctly and cautiously.
2. Insurance companies typically only cover a certain number of Behavioral Health visits at a reduced rate. Depending on the client's insurance plan, Behavioral Health may not be covered at all, or if you have a high deductible plan, you may still be paying standard rates until your deductible and out-of-pocket maximum are met.
3. When therapists bill through insurance, the insurance companies have direct access to billing and documentation for the client's record. Confidentiality is held in the highest regard, and we try to protect against others seeing your record as much as possible.
What is the cancellation policy?
Due to the extended time commitment required for therapy intensives, a more stringent cancellation policy is in place. If you miss your intensive appointment or cancel within one week of Day 1, your card will be automatically charged for the remaining balance. Your intensive will be rescheduled based on availability.
Emergency Policies: In the event a client is unable to attend due to accident or illness. The intensive can be rescheduled within two months, subject to availability. The 50% non-refundable deposit fee will be applied towards the rescheduled intensive.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
• You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
• Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
• If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
• Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
